provide effective balance therapy by combining motor and neurological training in a closed kinetic chain. the k.a.t. system allows clinicians and users to vary from firm-and-stable to free-and-unstable movement by controlling an inflatable bladder beneath the centrally pivoted platform. a microprocessor-based control in the k.a.t. 1250 allows bladder inflation and deflation. analog display provides continual performance feedback to users. handrails and an extremely stable base make the k.a.t. 1250 ideal in early stages of rehabilitation when client safety is paramount. unlike other platform balance systems, the k.a.t. 1250 provides objective, documentable data to indicate client improvement. the pressure bladder in the k.a.t. 550 is operated by a hand-held pump to vary stability, accurately controlled with the easy-to-read pressure gauge. a foot placement disk mounted to the base prevents the twisting motion that occurs with other balance systems. k.a.t. 550 is portable and includes a convenient carrying bag. both systems can accommodate clients up to 600 lbs. (272kg).
